Born in Bavaria, Germany I have been living in New Hampshire for the last twenty years. I have worked in the jewelry and watch industry for over thirty years and enjoy every aspect of this multifaceted field. One of my favorite aspects of Springer’s Jewelers is our ever-changing selection of Estate Jewelry and Watches, I find it fascinating to see how styles keep on changing through the decades. Springer’s Jewelers is by far the most interesting store I have ever worked for. I enjoy the curated selection of unique designers such as Alex Sepkus, Suna, Mark Henry, Marco Bicego to name but a few. As a watch geek, I love helping clients select timepieces for themselves or as gifts. When not helping my clients select the perfect piece of fine jewelry, I can be found enjoying the great outdoors or practicing archery.

Since 2013, I’ve been in the jewelry business, bringing a lifetime of customer service experience from the hospitality industry. My expertise lies in diamonds and watches, and I take pride in offering a relaxed, personalized approach that ensures a comfortable shopping experience. Since moving to Maine, I’ve become a lobster roll connoisseur and am always on the hunt to rate different joints. Be sure to ask me about the latest and greatest lobster rolls in the area. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors, whether it's fishing, hunting, playing disc golf, welding, or mastering the art of charcoal grilling.

I am a rock hound at heart and a Graduate Gemologist since 2016, with specialized expertise in the authentication, grading, and valuation of estate and antique jewelry. I have navigated over 400 auctions, 75,000 + pieces, and thousands of wonderful stories that these items hold. My respect and enthusiasm for incredible pieces fuel my love for being a buyer. I have served on multiple GIA alumni boards and value staying connected to the gemological community. I am happy to now call New Hampshire home, where I spend time with my rescue dogs, Meyers and Briggs.

My name is Rachel, and the jewelry industry has been my career focus for the last 15 years. Originally trained as a goldsmith, I am passionate about the fine craftsmanship, skill, history, and beauty of this field, and I continually strive to learn and grow within it. It is essential for me to breathe new life into clients' pieces through service, restoration, and redesign, enlivening beautiful things to their former glory.  I have worked throughout the Middle East and in London within the jewelry industry, and I am thrilled to be based now at home in the NH Seacoast area.

I moved to Massachusetts on a wing and a prayer in the early 80's. I was a jeweler in Kansas and was looking for a new adventure. And I found it! When they say your'e not in Kansas anymore, it's the truth. More than once, I thought about moving back, but I got a job as a jeweler in Boston and have been in New England ever since. Being a jeweler has been a rewarding career, repairing customer's jewelry and creating new heirlooms.

At the age of 15, I had my first experience working with non-ferrous metals through the process of lost-wax casting, creating small sculptures up to 10 pounds in bronze, brass, and aluminum. In 1977, I attended the Program in Artisanry at Boston University, where I received a B.A.A. and studied the fundamental processes involved in the field of metalsmithing. Received an MA in Gold and Silversmithing at SUNY College of New Paltz, New Paltz, NY in 1985. Throughout my professional career as a metalsmith/ jeweler, I have owned and operated my own business, creating a line of jewelry and designing brass furniture. From 1995 to the present day, I have taught workshops and courses in jewelry making, geared toward students of all skill levels, from beginners to advanced.

As a jewelry professional with over a decade of experience in luxury retail, I'm thrilled to be a part of the Springer's Portsmouth team! For me, jewelry is deeply personal- each piece representing celebration, memories, or expressions of individual style. It's a privilege to assist our clients in caring for their most cherished pieces so they can continue to enjoy them for years to come. Outside of work, I'm often spending time with friends and family or exploring the great outdoors.

Having worked in luxury retail in Los Angeles and Boston, returning to Portsmouth, NH to work for Springer's Jewelers was a dream come true. Whether it be helping clients repair and refinish their cherished jewelry and time pieces or helping them find new family future heirlooms, the part we play in lasting memories is second to none. When I’m not enjoying the team and our gorgeous store, I’m usually outside with my family soaking up all the majestic nature hikes New Hampshire has to offer.
